Update on the war in Congo

DR Kongo

Since January 2025, the Congolese rebel group M23 has captured large parts of eastern DR Congo including the large cities of Goma and Bukavu. Both the M23 and particularly the retreating regular Congolese soldiers have left a trail of destruction with thousands of civilian victims and much damage to infrastructure.
Partner sein has for years run successful projects in Goma and Bukavu as well as on the island of Idjwi in the lake of Kivu. We are in contact with the responsible local project leaders, although some have had to flee to neighbouring countries for their own safety.

It appears that most of our projects have thankfully suffered little damage and peace and normality is slowly returning. In Goma, our work with undernourished children is operating again.

We can assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and your donations will be spent wisely as we restart our charitable work.
